Sensor Data and Information Fusion Summer School 2026

From August 25 to 28, 2026, Fraunhofer FKIE will host the 2nd Sensor Data and Information Fusion Summer School.
Through a series of lectures, interactive discussions, and exchanges with experts from Fraunhofer FKIE, participants will gain insight into the fundamentals of sensor data and information fusion as well as cutting-edge technologies developed in our research groups. The summer school is open to students, postgraduates, and young professionals from academia and industry alike. Alongside an inspiring academic program, participants will also have plenty of opportunities to network, share ideas, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Bonn.

Topics include convex and stochastic optimization for sensor resource management, optical sensors as a fusion component, array signal processing, sequential Monte Carlo methods and particle filtering, extended Kalman filtering with parameter optimization and IMM, passive target localization and tracking, distributed fusion, multi-hypothesis tracking, fundamentals of parameter and state estimation, data fusion on discrete grids, and PHD, intensity, and Panjer filters.

The summer school will take place at Fraunhofer FKIE in Bonn.
