IEEE HISTELCON 2025

Under the motto "Knowing the Past for Preparing the Future" IEEE institutions, the University College London, the University of Bonn, the RWTH Aachen University and the Deutsche Museum are organizing an international conference on the history of technology: the HISTELCON 2025.

As IEEE Flagship Conference HISTELCON 2025 is dedicated to any aspects of the history of electrical engineering, electronics, sensing technologies, computing, telecommunications, and IT-based systems in general as well as their impact on the social and economic development. HISTELCON 2025 is the ninth in a row and the first to be held in Germany.

This event aims to appeal to a broad public and to contribute to reawakening the "passion for technology." High technology is not only a vital part of human culture that enables a meaningful life and social peace, but is also an enabler for resilience and security, especially in our times.

As a highlight of HISTELCON 2025, a Round Table brings together mature communities that rarely meet in intimate conversation: the IEEE President Kathleen Kramer, the NATO Chief Scientist Steen Søndergaard, General Michael Traut, German Space Command, Hensoldt’s CTO Jürgen Bestle, Nora Malchin, Head Innovation Hub, NATO ACT, and David Michelson, Chair IEEE History Committee.
