Exploroscope

The Exploroscope is the creative hotspot of system ergonomics. This innovative laboratory focuses on the systematic analysis and design of interaction concepts between soldiers and (highly automated) technical systems within organizational contexts. A particular emphasis is placed on the development and evaluation of human-machine interfaces, for example in platforms, combat environments, and complex settings.

State-of-the-art technologies are employed, including Augmented Reality (AR),Virtual Reality (VR), eye tracking, speech input and AI-assisted systems. These technologies enable the integration and validation of innovative solutions within realistic and controlled testing scenarios.

At the Exploroscope, simulation studies are conducted within a strong focus on land-based platforms of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The goal is to optimize usability, efficiency and overall system performance, thereby enhancing soldiers’ operational effectiveness.

In addition, the Exploroscope provides an ideal environment for ideation, workshops, and collaborative innovation formats. In an inspiring setting, interdisciplinary teams develop new concepts for both civilian and military applications and bring prototypes to life. Whether for research, development, or rapid prototyping, applied innovation is at the core of the Exploroscope.
